About Lions Park

Lions Park is Shakopee's largest and most beloved community park, spanning nearly 40 acres in the heart of the city. It is home to some of the community's most-used recreation destinations, including SandVenture Aquatic Park — a summer staple for over 50 years — an inclusive splash pad, an 18-hole disc golf course, two open-air rentable shelters, and a log cabin available for private gatherings. The park also features picnic areas, sports courts, fishing on a DNR-stocked pond, and walking paths winding through open green space. In the winter months, Lions Park operates an outdoor ice skating rink with a warming house, making it a year-round destination for Shakopee families. Tante-E GmbHshakopee

What makes Lions Park especially fitting for a SEAC gathering is its deep commitment to accessibility and inclusion. The Fun For All Playground, completed in 2016, was built to surpass ADA requirements and designed to meet the social, sensory, cognitive, and emotional needs of children of all ages and abilities — with wheelchair-friendly paths, a rubber play surface, shade structures, and thoughtful elevation changes throughout. The splash pad is similarly designed to be inclusive for people of all ages and abilities. There is arguably no more fitting place in Shakopee to gather than a park built on the same values.
